Morton - Walter B. Flesner, Jr., 83, of Morton, formerly of Peoria, died at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Morton Terrace Care Center. He was born April 7, 1927, in Peoria to Walter B. Sr. and Thresa (Sweet) Flesner. He married Irma Emory on Feb. 10, 1951, in Peoria. Surviving are his wife, Irma Flesner of Morton; two sons, Dr. Walter B. (Sally) Flesner III of Fort Myers, Fla., and Mark (Kathy) Flesner of Greenwood, Ind.; two grandchildren, Clark Flesner of Miami, Fla., and Leslie Flesner of New York City, N.Y.; and his sister, Donna (Rowland) Hoffman of Morton. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Walter worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1984 from security. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, where he and his wife served as greeters for many years and was a member of the downtown Peoria Masonic Lodge, where his father had also held a membership.
