Morton - Viola A. Paluska, 93, of Morton, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Macomb to Lewis and Orpha (Reed) Plassmann. She married Elmo A. Kirby on Sept. 1, 1937, in Macon, Mo. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1959. She later married Robert W. Paluska on Aug. 25, 1977, in Peoria. He also preceded her in death on March 19, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Julie (David) Diemer of Groveland and Jolene (Joseph) Frazier of Crystal Lake, Ill.; one son, Jerry (Gloria) Kirby of Morton; one stepson, Steve (Vicki) Paluska of Germantown Hills; one stepdaughter, Jeannie (Paul) Baker of Morton; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kerrie Kirby, and one brother, Tom Plassmann.
A homemaker, Viola had worked for Joos Bros. Mason Contractors in East Peoria for 16 years as the office manager.
She was a member of Morton United Methodist Church and its church choir. She also was a member of the Morton Women’s Club Chorus.
