Eureka - Willis Wiegand, 87, of Eureka, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka. He was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Dunlap, Ill., to Dan Sr. and Lena (Aberle) Wiegand. He married Betty Steffen on Nov. 24, 1946, in Elgin, Ill. Surviving are his wife, Betty Wiegand of Eureka; five sons, Roy (Jan) Wiegand of Secor, Ill., Wayne (Rosemary) Wiegand of Secor, Ill., Art (Pam) Wiegand of Congerville, Joe (Myra) Wiegand of Congerville, Dwight (Deb) Wiegand of Congerville; two daughters, Phyllis (Scott) Leman of Eureka, Ruth (Jeff) Grimm of Congerville; 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel (Verla) Wiegand, Elton (Loretta) Wiegand, both of Eureka; and four sisters, Elizabeth Blunier of Eureka, Margaret (Mel) Getz of Peoria, Norma (Roy) Hangartner of Eureka, Charlene (Bob) Schumacher of Eureka; two sisters-in-law, Helen and Beth Wiegand. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Philip, two brothers, Robert and Kenneth, and one sister, Lois. Willis was a farmer all his life in the Congerville and Goodfield area, retiring in 1998. He was a Golden Harvest dealer for 10 years and an organic farmer for 25 years. He was a member of the Goodfield Apostolic Christian Church, where he served as a minister for 28 years.
